Big league dreams. Village roots.
Travel baseball and softball for Ardsley players, 8U through 14U.
Who we are
Ardsley Travel Baseball & Softball fields competitive teams for Ardsley players. Our teams play in the GHVBL and GHVSL against programs from around the region.
We are a local alternative to outside club programs, coached by volunteers who know our players. We generally serve ages 8U through 14U, and the teams we field vary by season.
Our approachWhat we focus on
Development first
Fundamentals, thoughtful instruction, practice, and long-term improvement.
Compete together
Play hard, support teammates, respect opponents, and learn from wins and losses.
Local
Ardsley players and coaches, with home games at McDowell Park.
Nine league titles since 2023
- BaseballSeven GHVBL titles, including three straight for the 9U/10U Panthers
- SoftballTwo GHVSL titles, most recently the Pink Panthers in Spring 2026
Baseball and softball
Instruction comes first at the youngest ages. Older teams play a fuller competitive schedule.
Tryouts
Dates, times, and age groups are in the tryout box at the top of this page. Read the details below before you register.
Eligibility
Register for the age group set by GHVBL (baseball) or GHVSL (softball) eligibility rules. Exceptions require Travel Board approval.
Tryout fee
$30 cash, paid at check-in. Non-refundable; covers the independent evaluators.
Evaluations
Every team is formed through tryouts scored by independent, professional evaluators. This is required for all Ardsley Travel teams.
Parents
Drop-off only. Parents may not stay to watch tryouts.
What to wear
No current travel uniforms or team-branded bags. Wear a shirt or older jersey that can take an ID sticker. Old Little League jerseys are fine.
What to bring
Glove, bat, and helmet. Softball players also need a fielding mask. Bring water.
Little League
Players selected for a travel team must also play in Ardsley Little League during Spring 2027.
No guarantees
Registering for and attending tryouts does not guarantee a spot on a travel team.
From sign-up to roster
Register
A parent or guardian completes the online form.
Evaluate
Players take part in age-appropriate baseball or softball drills.
Review
The Travel Board reviews evaluations and roster needs. For new teams, coaches are selected after the roster.
Communicate
Families hear placement decisions, plus expectations, costs, and next steps.
We aim to explain evaluation criteria clearly and assess every player consistently. Independent evaluators score what they see at the tryout. A tryout does not guarantee placement on a team.
